I am walking
My pace is slowing
I need to be wound
To keep going on
So I don’t stop
So I walk further away
Some distance far and I will turn
I am meaningless if I stop
I will need winding again
And again
Always

Look at the maid
Scrubbing paint off the floor.
What difference does it make,
Because she will anyway get paid?

What difference does it make
If, satisfaction, she cannot spell?
She will get it still;
I can only fake.

Time is moving,
I cannot stop,
As the sand
Slips away from my hand
And I can not hold;
What to do?
What to do?
I  loved you,
But could not help you;
My efforts were not enough;
So I was of no use.
It is good you chose others,
And moved forward with time;
But I could not;
What to do now?
I could not hold the time
And it slipped away;
What to do?
I am now of no use;
What to do?

I am a ghost

They make me feel like a ghost;
Do they do it deliberately-
I want to ask them this question.
Do I become invisible,
Or is their alibi in their preoccupation?
Do I become inaudible,
Or communication is beyond consideration?
What wrong did I do
To receive this cold reception?
Is it a one-off,
Or a series of unscrupulous repititions?

Dedicated to my dear mother on this mothers’ day.

One day as I was walking quite fast,
Only a few blocks past,
I stopped and looked around.
Just when I concluded nobody could be found,
I realized I was not alone;
With me was the creator of my every bone!
Like then and like always,
On rainy or sunny days,
You have been walking with me all along;
You are the reason I am strong.

One day I thought I had reached a dead end;
I wanted to go back in time and mend.
That time you told me, “Don’t think, don’t stall!
Why don’t you just try to climb this wall?
You will see a new world on the other side.
New opportunities will open their doors wide.”
Like then and like always,
On rainy or sunny days,
You have been picking thorns from my bed;
You are the reason my life is smoothly led.

One day I was too elated;
“What could ever go wrong,” I interrogated.
You too were celebrating my happiness
And praying it may never be less.
But at the same time ensuring that good times don’t avert,
That I don’t eat too much dessert!
Like then and like always,
On rainy or sunny days,
You have been keeping me from getting drowned;
You are the reason I live happily but on ground!

One day, today, I want to say without any platitude
That I am sitting on an earth-full of gratitude!
You do so many sacrifices and don’t remember,
Every day from January to December!
If I can be an iota of goodness that you are,
I’ll be blessed like the night’s brightest star!
Like today and like always,
On rainy or sunny days,
You are and shall be my dearest, my idol!
You are the reason I’ll defeat all waves- figurative or tidal 🙂

Happy birthday mother

Mother, you are so special and dear
That we say it in words clear,
It is not about being far or near
Your affection makes it worth being here.
Our only wish is you never lose a tear
As you grow wiser and prettier each year,
And we celebrate your every birthday with cheer
Because you are so special and dear!

Dedicated to mother and father for completing twenty five years of togetherness on behalf of their loving children!

Looking upon that day with happiness and pride
When Dad, the groom and Mum, the bride,
Would have decided to annoy 😛 each other every day
In every possible way!
Before which marriage would have been the stuff of dreams
It all started then, though now, different it may seem.

One by one each year arrived,
Bringing with it both joys and strife.
You have been so humble and strong in seeing it through,
You set examples for many to see and do!
From next to nothing to what we are now,
You set a pace, most can not match.

You stood  by us and gave us strength to stand,
Showed us the path and held our hand.
What more could we say, just that you are the best!
You could easily beat Mount Everest,
If your every effort was stacked in a pile.
Of course, you could move even that just to see us smile.

Now, looking at today with happiness and pride,
At the wonderful journey of the once groom and bride.
Some dreams that you never imagined have come true,
Especially given the differences,
Ranging from the flavour of tea to buying a house new!
Even the car turned from grey to blue!
Bottom line, you have done it all together.
You’ll inspire us forever!
25 years of love and dedication:
It is a big achievement, deserves a big celebration.
So, congratulations and best wishes from the centre of our hearts
Do us a favour, let 25 be only a start!
